415 Group will match donations, dollar-for-dollar, made to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank for this year’s Long Haul Against Hunger Campaign. Monetary donations and non-perishable food items will be accepted on Friday, Dec. 7 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Giant Eagle at The Strip, 6493 Strip Ave. NW in Jackson Township. Every dollar donated will provide eight meals to those in need.
“Hunger is still a problem in our community, but this campaign is a way for us to help those who need it most,” said 415 Group Managing Partner Frank Monaco. “This is our eighth year partnering with the Foodbank, and we’re so grateful to our clients, friends and family members who show up every year to offer their support.”
This year, 415 Group clients will receive a special gift onsite when making their donations. Volunteers will also be available to help unload any non-perishable food donations from vehicles.
In Stark County, 14.4 percent of the population is food insecure — that rate increases to 20.8 percent for children.
Through its eight-year partnership with the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, 415 Group has provided more than one million meals to those in need
